Free tuition, nobody wants it! (malcolm knight) Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Malcolm, one of the reasons you can't give it away is that you aren't charging for it. Sounds funny, but it's true. When Tiel and I started teaching our teacher warned us "You have to charge them something or they won't value it." You don't have to gouge them, of course, but the idea of exchanging something of worth for something of worth is pretty deeply ingrained in people, especially in the West. You can always have a sliding scale or take some sort of alternative to cash. --__--__-- Message: 2 Date: Thu, 25 May 2006 13:25:55 -0700 From: Eskrima-FMA To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Local Guard Services Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Local Guard Services American Consulate General – Hong Kong Call for Interest POSITION SUMMARY Homeland Security Corporation (HSC) / PPCT Management Systems is currently recruiting individuals for possible work in Hong Kong serving the American Consulate in the positions of Project Manager, Guard Force Commander and Surveillance Detection Supervisor. A thought provoking piece all the way around. Being the political junkie that I am, I have placed a good deal of political allegory into the story. In book two (Eretzel), there is an argument between a young moderate Persian and his radical father about Jihad. Knowing that we have a good number of well educated and intelligent people on this list, can I ask a favor? I have this chapter on my website: www.theswordoffire.com (Look for Eretzel Chapter Twelve). Can you read this chapter, especially if you have posted on the subject of Jihad on this digest, and give me your suggestions for improving the chapter. For one thing, I have a tendency to put much more than I need to on paper during the first draft and then cut back the excess in each successive draft. I would like your opinion on what specific lines need to be cut (and of course, if you would add anything, please let me know that as well). The chapter opens with a conversation between an Israeli political leader and his head of security. To find the conversation about Jihad, skip down past the ** marks I use to separate subchapters. Thanks, Tuhon Bill McGrath PS For a scholarly definition of Jihad, please read: http://www.meforum.org/article/357 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam?
