Very good points made by them on this. I remember a guy in Basic Training who could recite the entire nomenclature of the M16, to include muzzle velocity, weight with and without a magazine, but couldn't, for the life of him, zero his weapon, much less hit the pop ups at the range. Good thing he was a finance clerk. Recently, I was trying to teach a fellow soldier some stick stuff; he got excited and came at me with a thrust to my face; the only reason I avoided it is because my alive hand reacted, and not in a asthetically pleasing, technical way. We started laughing, and I told him, "That's why you keep your other, nonweaponed hand on your chest!" Another thought on this... Alexander the Great came across a huge rope in a temple which was tied in a knot, a so-called "Turk's Head Knot" where the ends were concealed within the knot itsel f; it was called the Gordian knot, and a prophecy said that whoever untied the knot would be the ruler of Asia. He prayed to the gods for a solution, consulted priests, intellectuals, and finally said, "It shouldn't matter how I unravel it!" and cut it with his sword. The rest is history. --__--__-- _______________________________________________ Eskrima mailing list Eskrima@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/eskrima http://eskrima-fma.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/eskrima Copyright 1994-2006: Ray Terry, MartialArtsResource.com, Sudlud.com Standard disclaimers apply.
