The idea is not to apply the general principles to the specific situation, but to be specifically responsive to what "is". If he gives what YOU can kick to your advantage, then kick. If not, then don't. Belonio FOR the World Brotherhood of International Modern Arnis, Tagaytay City, Cavite is the venue for promotion and activities. The event was a total success. Some 115 participants from 15 countries like USA, Canada, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Slovenia, Austria, Bosnia, Australia, United Kingdom, Hongkong, Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Philippines, joined the 3rd World Modern Arnis Festival held here for the first time. The previous International Modern Arnis Festivals were held in Germany (supposedly a test run), of which the 2nd was held in the site The World Football Cup. The Philippines was chosen this time as venue due to the fact that Arnis was one of the countries cultural sports. It aimed as asserting the Filipinos authority in the brotherhood ownership of Arnis. The event is creating the final organizational output here. The modern arnis festival also helps economically to Philippine tourism. The event was organized by Amadeo, Cavite Councilor Rene R. Tongson as chairman and a grand master of modern arnis, Samuel D. Dulay director-secretariat, Ginalyn J. Relos administrative officer, Master Cristino B. Vasquez training and technical director and Atty. Salvador P. Demaisip, overall director. The GrandMaster and Founder of Modern Arnis is Prof. Remy A. Presas, Sr. The exciting international modern arnis festival was held in the cool City of Tagaytay, Cavite from July 11 to 21, 2006 covering highlights on training during the early schedules and several activities such as the Bakbakan with Rey Galang, Dekiti with Jerson Tortal, Modern Arnis with Dieter Knuttel, LSAI with Bert Lamaniego and Jon Escudero, Modular knife and combat bolo with Bram Frank, dekiti tersia with Rommel Tortal, modern arnis tapitapi with Bryan Zawilinski and Samuel Dulay, Tabimina Balintawak with Bobby Silver Tabimina, Kuntaw with Constantino Napase, modern arnis 80â€(tm)s with Dan Anderson, modified tapado with Mike Vasquez, tres puntas with Rene Tongson, Serrada Escrina with Graciela Casillas, ipit pilipit with Cris Vasquez among the superb sports segments and trainors respectively. One of the series of events was covered live by GMA TV's Unang Hirit. Culminating the festival was the demonstration and techniques presentation of different countries and distribution of certificates during a Gala Night Pasay City's prestigious Heritage Hotel. Iloilos representative to the international event was one of its Head Instructor IMAFP "Iloilo Chapter Rosauro De Leon, IMAFP member Cora J. Belonio, Nelson Delideli, Rovilla Motin, Jonathan Sobretodo, Edgardo Dineros of Hikari Arnis Club, President IMAFP Iloilo Chapter Master Lodovico P. Of course, the outcome could have been different had the knifewielder been a trained bladefighter. Fortunately, I have yet too hear of a trained bladefighter who uses his/her skills to rob people in the streets of Manila. In the case of the pistol-armed attacker, he really had no choice but to go after the pistol (the flooring of the pistol-toter is just an unintended consequence). After all, running away from someone who was able to successfully draw a 1911A1 does not just seem to sound like a good survival strategy.
