Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hi all To all members in the PI (or anyone else with knowledge), a friend of mine is planning a trip and emailed me these questions. (He has also expressed an interest in seeing some FMA) 1. When is the best time generally to visit the Philippines in respect of the following places: Manilla, Palawan, Panay and Boracay Island. 2. In respect of these places could they be visited easily during January and February or would rain potentially make it too difficult and/or uncomfortable. 3. Are there any other places that are definitely worth visiting, primarily for either or combination of good nightlife, good beaches and even trekking / climbing. He also says he doesn't really want to be there during a monsoon. Ray would probably prefer off-list responses, any help greatly appreciated. If we include the element of INTENT, does that serve to clarify the issue? In a fight, the intent would be to destroy the opponent, whether in self- defense, a street brawl, war, etc. Would a boxing match (in a ring) be fighting then? "No trophies, no winners, no losers, just be friends at the end of the day" I believe that is the criteria established for these type of matches. There is a HUGE distinction between what is a sparring match and a fight and at the Dog Brother gatherings, they FIGHT. Daniel Arola jay de leon wrote: "In sparring, BOTH guys win!"
