But I thought he still lived in Cebu. When did he relocate to San Diego? I will have to correct my listing as to his present whereabouts. Thank you. The following URL shows GM Casio teaching ananangkil to my first FMA teacher, Agapito Gonzalez, back in the 1980's. Momoy Canete is in the background. http://northshoreac.com/san_miguel_eskrima/ananangkil.htm Best, --__--__-- Message: 3 From: "Rocky" To: Date: Wed, 13 Sep 2006 13:17:05 -0400 Subject: [Eskrima] GM Gats Rope Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net >Gat Puno wrote: >In regards of the question, someone asking about the large Rope,.. I would like to see some of this, I have heard stories of some FMA GM's being quite lethal with a rope, how would you rank it as far as your choice of weapons.. Have you ever heard of a Sailors Mate? My dad tought me a very short stick rapped at the striking end in rope wound tightly, he called it a sailors mate....I find it a nice weapon to carry in your car, its small about 12 in long and if you are not trained with it, its not real easy to hurt someone with it, so if your opponent gets it away from you , he can't do to much damage to you, which I would imagine is true with the rope too!! I used the same, but I choose Metal Coil on each end of my Rope.. Gat Puno Abon "Garimot" Baet Garimot Arnis Training Group International. Steve Wrote: Reply: Sorry, you're not the only one. Our version is roughly the same size. We also add a Monkey Paw knot at each end similar to what sailors would use for throwing ropes up into the rigging. And yes, sometimes we wear it around our waist. Steve Gat Puno wrote: In regards of the question, someone asking about the large Rope,..
