To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Training in the Inosanto blend will in fact fine-tune and boost the basics you've already learned through Modern Arnis and it will also add more "flavor" to your personal style of execution. Anthony wrote: Hello Everyone, I am getting ready to transition to a Kali instructor who teaches the Dan Inosanto flavor of the art after a few years of training with an instructor teaching Remy Presas' original Modern Arnis. My Arnis instructor moved away for a job. My new instructor is sanctioned by Inosanto to teach his system. What are the primary differences between the two systems? Does Inosanto's flavor of Kali include any work with two swords simultaneously (a.k.a. double sword)? I'm trying to get my equipment together for the new class and would love some input. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Hi Antony, your question should not be a .... versus ..., the comparison metioned by Clint is the better expression. Kali as teached by Guro Dan has twelve areas of which one is the double sword you asked in your mail. But it contains also projectile weapons or flexible weapons. So the best thing to get your bag ready to go to training will be to just simply ask your instructor what you will need for training. The Inosanto Blend System of Kali is a very open minded view on Kali techniques and tactics. You will have alot of fun training it. Let us know Arndt Mallperee Lakan Guro Level 5 under Guro Inosanto "Absorb what is useful, reject what is useless and add what is specifically your own!"
