Gord ps hope I spelled it right!! --__--__-- Message: 2 From: Pananandta@aol.com Date: Mon, 25 Dec 2006 09:33:00 EST To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] The Master Certificate Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net When Mark Wiley was starting to write his book (what has now been titled Filipino Martial Culture), he asked me if I was interested to be in it. In turn, I asked him what the title of the book was. The title he mentioned had the two words, "Filipino" and "Masters". I asked, "Who will be in the book?" He mentioned a couple of names whom I thought would not qualify to be in a book with such title. I told him, if the "couple of guys" are included in a book titled "Filipino Masters", I would not want to be in it. I believe Mike Inay refused the Master certificate not because of the $500. I believe it is something more - about principles. If Mike Inay kept notes and diaries, he might have put down his thoughts about the Master certificate in writing. But I can make a guess. It would be most reasonable to assume that it is along the same lines of reasoning as I had with regard to Mark's book. Amante P. Five hundred, fifty, or free, the decision would have remained the same. imho --__--__-- Message: 3 From: Ray To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net (Eskrima) Date: Mon, 25 Dec 2006 07:41:11 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Eskrima] list down, warning #final Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net The list will be down the rest of the Christmas week. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net hi, if things work out... I would like to vacation in cebu next year. I was in touch with one of the list members regarding GM Johnny Chiuten and th Pronus Supinus style, but my email account at the time is in limbo. I think Stephen Drape was the gentleman's name. If you could drop me a private message that would be appreciated. Also, if there are any other members studying with gm chiuten, I would appreciate your replies and any information you could forward regarding training in the system.
