One of my students fighting in March is a natural 170 lbs man. He will be fighting at 145bs. We have been doing a lot of cardio training and strength drills that use only his own body weight for resistance and in high reps. He has cut to 164 as of this week. I exspect with his diet and the training we will have his weight at 158 by March first. We have a goal to be at 154 on March 15th the day before weigh -in. He will then begin to dry out or dehydrate himself. We expect him to lose 8 lbs and be at 146lbs 2 hours befor weigh in. about 30 min. before weigh in he will chew gum and spit the last 1 lbs. The goal is to usethe time to spread out the weight loss as much as we can. After weigh in he will begin to re hydrate slowly for the next 24 hours, right up to the fight. We use pedialite for children, and water at first, then lots of fruit along with a multi vitamine. That night he will eat steamed rice and a chicken breast, still drinking water and taking his vitamine and some other supliments. We will monitor his bathroom use until we feel comfortable that his hydration is back 100%. We are not doctors but this seems to work for us. If you have any sugestions we are open to hear them" Is the end result worth it?
