If more people would remember the reasons why we devote a lifetime of study to a martial art, there would be more sharing, and a whole lot less BS when it comes to the arts. As a westerner who was lucky enough to be accepted into the FMA's back in the '70's, I am most grateful for the knowledge shared, the trust bestowed, and the memories gained of the extremely talented martial artists I've been so fortunate to have met in my 29 years in Eskrima, some of who are now gone from this world. Thanks to all who preceded me, who taught me, and who trusted me, Kim Satterfield Midwest School of Eskrima In a message dated 3/28/2007 7:04:21 AM Eastern Daylight Time, eskrima-request@martialartsresource.net writes: Greetings Abon !! Jay, Alex and myself certainly thank you for the kind words. Really, with all intent and purposes, we pinoys here in the states or anywhere over the world do care and love our art. So, wherever we are, we want our FMA brothers back home to know that despite our absence and distance, we have not forgotten what we owed from the motherland and our honored teachers there. Also, together with our American brothers are trying our bests to help propagate our art here. For those fortunate Kabayans who goes home and still maintains connections there can at times share what we have here. Sort of showing and telling to enhance and exchange FMA learning all in the name of FMA brotherhood and preservation of our art. Regards to all!!! I saw no garbage in the movie. Just a lot of raw action and it was very well displayed.
