Guro Mat's article which contained that premise was published in an issue of Inside Kung Fu in 1995 or 2005, just can't remember exactly. The 30 minutes documentary was made I believe last year or just this year. This explanation of Kali was non-existent prior to these dates. Red Gonzales Ray wrote: > Something to see...Good stuff. Dog Brothers member Nick Papadakis did a good job with the short docu. However, may I bring to your attention some corrections: The featured FMAers were dubbed "Kali Men" but with the exception of GT Leo Gaje and Mandala Rommel Tortal, all don't not use the name Kali to describe their arts. Jose Aguilar is a grandmaster of Oido de Caburata ARNIS (not Kali). Diotay and his deceased opponent Dela Torre, as well as Legaspi, are ARNISADORS, not Kali Men. Eliseo Constantino is an expert in Lapu-Lapu Viñas ARNIS (not Kali). Even Agalon Jeffrey Montelibano, who is with PTK, is an expert in Lapu-Lapu Viñas ARNIS (not Kali). The featured fighting men were all from the Municipality of Murcia. The Mayor who appeared in the beginning of the film is Mayor Sonny Coscolluela. If there's anything that this documentary proves, it is that ARNISADORS fight with blades as well, which is contradictory to what's advertised in the US that arnisadors are purely stickfighters. These are just some tidbits that i think you owe to know. Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net We would all agree that FMA is a no-non sense form of fighting art. That is why it hit the US in a phenomenal way. Now for all of you guys who put in blood and sweat to the perfection of your FMA skills and take it seriously like a life and death situation, this clip is a big ? to the true tradition of FMA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4rMIIIOBxc http://fmatalk.com/showthread.php?t=2121 --------------------------------- Tired of spam?
