For those who followed the ED thread here on martial arts in the Phil. including arnis and karate, with significant contribution from PG Mat Marinas, James Sy Jr., myself and a few others, you should enjoy this edition. You will read about many of the personalities and organizations we wrote about--including Latino Gonzales, Dionisio "Johnny" Carranza, Meliton Geronimo, Johnny Chiuten, Guillermo Lengson, Ernesto and Remy Presas, and many more. During the ED discussion, I mentioned that Johnny Carranza (the head of my shorin-ryu organization called Siete Pares) became an NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) agent, the Phil. counterpart of the FBI. I asked if anybody could confirm what i heard, that Johnny Carranza was killed in the line of duty as an NBI Agent. Nobody at ED could, but one of the articles confirms it.
