I liked the show, and it's about time that FMA gets some mass media exposure. Keep in mind that the show was produced for young male viewers, and less so for martial artists. The training methods shown were fascinating and grueling. Though, that sort of training is broad in scope and requires much time to gain skill and the physical development to support it. I enjoyed seeing the highlights of the training on TV, but I don't think that asking guest fighters to train in with new exercises until they are their bodies are sore and hands and feet are covered with blood blisters with no time to recover is the right way to prepare for a fight. Though, the courtyard setting and type of fights were very well chosen. Overall, the show was excellent and showed FMA in a positive light. The absence of negative opinion by the hosts would be Un-American. Also, recall that the producers of the show choose the dialog, and 99% of what was recorded on videotape is not seen in the show. --__--__-- Message: 7 Date: Thu, 10 Jan 2008 22:20:24 -0800 (PST) From: david foggie Subject: Re: [Eskrima] Appreciation To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Steven, It is my pleasure to assist you in what ever way I can.
