BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!! Oops. That wasn't shorthand. Or nice. Oh, well, anybody who claims to teach "Dim Mak Gung Fu" and lists "Sp. Gov. & Covert Black Arts" as one of, what, twelve completely different families of MA (if I'm interpreting that chart right) just plain *deserves* public(ish) ridicule. Thank you, Sir Gatdula, for giving me a GREAT laugh this morning! Sheesh. "Kuochi Kalikar"? President of the Victorian Country Stick Fighting Association Glen Eden said the local club was a national powerhouse, with several members earmarked for international competition in the near future. ''In Victoria, Eskrima is growing very quickly; so far we have seven regional schools here of a national standard,'' Eden said. ''We have some of the best fighters in Australasia in Victoria and Bendigo is the head club in the state.'' Despite the nature of martial arts, Eden said exponents were referred to as ''players'', not ''fighters.'' He believes Eskrima transcends martial arts and encompasses an improved way of life. ''Eskrima is an adventurous, fun and free-spirited martial art,'' Eden said. ''It is a self-developing, self-empowering way of life; there are no restrictions. ''It's definitely a thinking man's art.'' After a long involvement with martial arts, Eden turned his attention to Eskrima more than 10 years ago and hasn't looked back. ''I've been teaching since 2005 and have been training since 1997, but before that I had 17 years of teaching experience across Kung-Fu, Akido and Karate,'' he said. ''Eskrima is the world's elite weapons-based martial art, and it has been since 1932.''Eskrima training is held in the Park Road Hall at the Tom Flood Sports Centre every Tuesday and Thursday evening.
