It is greatly appreciated. The Kuntaw Kali Kruzada group is very proud to be affiliated with IMAFP. We consider IMAFP to be our family and that also extends to all of the various Modern Arnis organizations. Respectfully, Rich Acosta ----- Original Message ----- Message: 8 Date: Fri, 4 Apr 2008 14:47:18 -0700 (PDT) From: jay de leon < jakkdawg@yahoo.com > Subject: Re: [Eskrima] Re: Title of Datu To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net I hereby attest to the fact that Datu Rich Acosta as well as his brother Maestro Rico Acosta are part of the International Modern Arnis Federation of the Phil (IMAFP) family (technically associates). Like many family members of IMAFP, they have forged their own FMA identity but fully support and participate in IMAFP activities, like the FMA Festival in the Philippines. Other associates include Dan Anderson, Bram Frank, Alex Ercia, Datu Dieter Knuettel and others. Datu Shishir Inocalla and Datu Ric "Bong" Jornales maintain cordial relationships with IMAFP and myself, and remain friends to many of the IMAFP masters in the Phil. My kapatid Alex Ercia and myself have joked about this, but as dysfunctional as we may be, we are still family. Most of the moves featured are based on the anyo of the 2005 SEA Games synchronized anyo team (LSAI - UP Sangkil Karasak). The last 7 months of 2006 I had to meet a publisher's deadline on my book (The Art of Throwing) that was published by Tuttle Publishing in January 2007. I was barely done with it when I had to meet another publisher's deadline, this time Unique Publications who published my book Pananandata The Guide to Balisong Openings in July 2007. I am writing to meet another publisher's (Tuttle Publishing) deadline (September 2008) on another book that Tuttle would like to list in their Spring 2009 catalog. But I read ED. Al (Sardinas): I am glad to hear that you were given the rank "hadji". I do not know if your promotion was part of a news item that Leo had written in the Filipino Reporter. If he did, I missed reading it. Best to all. APM **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides.
