Sheridan Rd., 3rd Floor, Chicago, IL 60613 For More Information: Call Nate Defensor at 847.239.3990. Curriculum: Learn the 30-Sets of Laguna Style Moro Moro right from the Source as performed for centuries in Paete, Laguna, Philippines. Moro Moro is the stage version of the Filipino Martial Arts depicting the battle between the Christians and the Moors in Spain. These movements were designed for entertainement combining Martial Art Movements, Dance, Rhythm, and Folk Music in the guise of entertaining the conquering Conquistadores or the ruling class. This is a traditional way of training the movements of Eskrima sometimes referred to as 'Entablado" or Stage Martial Art. Very similar in concept to the ceremonial performers in Pentjak Silat, Bersilat or Silat and also the Chinese Opera versions of Kung Fu/Wu Shu. At the very root of the Moro Moro movements, a trained eye can definitely see the combative effectiveness of Eskrima/Arnis/Kali. http://www.defensormethod.com/events.html --__--__-- Message: 2 From: Ray To: Eskrima-Digest Subject: Re: [Eskrima] Re: falling out Date: Wed, 23 Apr 2008 18:02:35 -0700 Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net There is a brief mention of it in issue v07.n205.txt. I hate to stir things up again, but Angel and Leo did not care much for each other. As far as I know they never did resolve their hard feelings for each other. Folks here may be interested to know of the article "Dan Inosanto remembers Leo Giro" by Antonio Somera and DJ Marcia in the Summer 2008 issue of "Masters Magazine" ( www.mastersmag.com ) In the article, Guro I. is quoted as saying "I would like my son to be just like Manong Leo." That is my idea of the deepest and highest praise and respect that there is.
