In honor to all the families who suffered from the supreme sacrifice their relatives gave in service to their country. Our thoughts to the family of 19 yr. old Daniel Unger, who passed away 4 yrs. ago to this day in Iraq. Both father; Rev. Marc & son Daniel were students of the Estalilla Kabaroan. Though his training had educated him as a warrior for combat, it has also prepared us with spirituality that strengthens & guides us in coping with the realities, consequences & aftermath of battle & engagement of conflict. May God bless all who have served. Please accept our humble yet hearfelt thanks & gratitude. Maraming salamat po, Lino Espejo _________________________________________________________________ Change the world with e-mail. Beautiful rememberance of fallen soldiers. Request it from your radio station, or download it, or whatever. (Note - I'm not affiliated with Jon Gorka or the record company, etc.) For those who can't get to hear it, lyrics below: Let them in, Peter, They are very tired Give them couches where the angels sleep And light those fires Let them wake whole again To brand new dawns Fired with the sun Not wartime's bloody guns May their peace be deep Remember where the broken bodies lie God knows how young they were To have to die God knows how young they were to have to die Give them things they like Let them make some noise Give roadhouse bands, not golden harps To these our boys And let them love, Peter 'Cause they've had no time They should have trees and bird songs And hills to climb The taste of summer in a ripened pear And girls sweet as meadow winds With flowing hair Tell them how they are missed And say not to fear It's gonna be alright With us down here Let them in, Peter... The backstory of the song is particularly of note for this list. The lyrics are a poem written by an American nurse serving in the Phillipines during WWII. They were found by her daughter, and set to music by John Gorka. Thanks to all those who served, and who serve today. JK Ray wrote: http://www.usmemorialday.org/backgrnd.html Thank you...
