Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net yehey! Just wondering if "le punte" is in any way related to LAPUNTI ARNIS DE ABANICO? Lapunti was developed in Cebu under GM Filemon Caburnay... with modifications developed by GM Johnny Chiuten. I do not believe it was an offshoot of Doce Pares. According to my instructors, Doce Pares would invite instructors/ GMs of different Arnis styles within Cebu , to participate in their activies and (I gathered) cross train with the other styles. LADA participated for a while, then went on to establish itself as an independent association (1975 I believe). Who is the teacher of this kata by the way? The old curriculum of LADA had only 7 katas officially... take care and good luck! tenrec@avcorner.com tenrec2@yahoo.com tenrec2@gmail.com --__--__-- Message: 4 Date: Wed, 1 Oct 2008 23:50:24 -0700 (PDT) From: B Light To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: [Eskrima] Gunting Knives Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Does anybody know where to order a good gunting knife?   Thanks! --__--__-- Message: 5 Date: Thu, 2 Oct 2008 15:31:08 +0100 From: iPat To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Subject: Re: [Eskrima] Gunting Knives Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Spyderco made them. maybe ebay? whilst i really like the knife its way to heavy to clip on anything other than robust clothing - definately not sweats. The AK47 Cold Steel is now a prefferred choice as a clip that is an effective loader. Eliot plans on putting out a new magazine (with a new name), with what he calls the Filipino flavor, however it will also have all martial arts in it. His website will be up when the new magazine comes out. When it comes out is anyones guess since he is very busy with the affairs of his late wife. Yes some people get Rays excellent digest of discussion Eskrima Digest mixed up with the FMAdigest. And Ray was one of the people that was talked to and was an inspiration to get the FMAdigest going.
