This only works for Brown Bear(grizzly) attacks as they are almost always territorial in nature. any attempts to fight off a Grizzly will only be taken as a diminant action and enrage it more to fight back. When a black bear attacks they are usually predatory in nature. At signs of danger Black bears will usually tree their young and high tail it as they are good climbers. irt has been shown that fighting back against BLACK bear attacks is a better alternative thatn playing dead. One time we were actually six inches or less apart, nose to nose. No, we weren't dancing... Ditto the below. Yelling at it also helped...
