Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Meowmixs to all, Questions about title or rank?I `ve noticed that some has a title "GrandMaster, Master,Punong Guro(PG/ Head Instructor) and pretty soon Grand Master Datu?. The title Datu was/still in use for the people with the Muslim background and it is consider a high ranking person for that title. If the person who has a title "DATU" and went to teach FMA in the Muslim community will that person be treated as royalty beacuse of his title given to him which some other person does not know the royaltiness of it. But since the museum is only open 7 hours a day in the winter it would have taken me a month or two or three to test all the firearms there. Everything from matchlocks and pole cannon to Spencer repeaters (my fav) to Ma-Deuce, Uzis, etc. I would have loved to test fire even 100 of the 2,700 there. As FMA instructors, aka weapons instructors, this is a topic of which we should have at least a passing knowledge. I really wish I'd met and trained with the man. Speaking as a student of the martial arts who also has a keen interest in some of the more 'Eastern' ways of looking at things, I would say of this book, IMHO: If you haven't read it, read it. If you have read it, it's time to read it again. In memory of Joe Hyams… I won't leave a customary MA-related finishing quote as the book is packed full of gems.
