Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Brother Jay,,,musta and my best! By this time, us easterners are way short on our tolerance regards the long winter months and cold . We're about ready for the"Change" as well. So, to be in those PI island paradise you cited, drinking chilled SM beer sounds fantastic! When are we leaving? Ray and all of ED family can come - activities to include nothing but FMA and partying. Whoaa a wild wish but hey!!,,,possibilities are endless in the name of comraderie and having fun. === OK,OK,OK, back to earth and the question of - "how does one become a recognized expert"? Yet another hit but kind of vague ED thread to put to mind but have since gotten great revues and opinions. In the vast complexity of MA realm - discussions here will be an open door and soon could get tideous and messy at times too. But uhmmm, thinking about it, reached this queue of NEVER specially if all of MA repertiore are considered. Why,,,MA per say though a ancient human spectacle, same as with all things big (inanimate or not), goes thru a infinite trend of constant CHANGES with time. In this day and age, even those in technology and exact sciences must cope up with these changes thru continuing education and re-learning as newer mentality, concepts/ methodology, training/ etc. comes and goes. "The adventure continues" as our brother Crafty Dog so wisely says and I agree that it can be boundless. No doubt though one can "put or prefer not" claim regards the degree and worthiness of his mastery/expertice by proof of MA certifications, rankings, recognition by peers, talent, years of training, dedication, and of late the added consensus of actually using one's skills in a real life encounter and /or challenge. Very true, debatable, and magnanimous indeed if achieved. Fact is, there are martial artist out there and on ED that's already in this special elite group and yet are candidly silent but wise not to squack about it. So, you'd never know or be lucky enough to ran in with any of this fellas who have thus secured this added mystique in them thru years spend in the arts. Those that yearns to be -"Train Hard" and best not to be bothered but accept the already established intrinsic norms of the MA world. Remember, as simple as the differences of the good/bad apples and oranges - so thus in the martial arts. So be leary, let it be, and just do your own thing. Lastly, lets all be nice to any FMA'ers out there irregardless of your impression on him. But then again, "IF" otherwise, just a little shampooing and polishing will do. My thoughts! jorge penafiel --__--__-- _______________________________________________ Eskrima mailing list Eskrima@martialartsresource.net http://martialartsresource.net/mailman/listinfo/eskrima Subscribe or Unsubscribe: http://eskrima-fma.net Old digest issues @ ftp://ftp.martialartsresource.com/pub/eskrima Copyright 1994-2009: Ray Terry, MartialArtsResource.com, Sudlud.com Standard disclaimers apply.
