Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Someone said that "it was a good death" Death is always tragic I would hope that we could say he had a good life. Peace and Blessings to the grieving families, the memories of death will fade, focus on the memories of a good life. To their students, one of the hardest things in martial arts is the death of your teacher, honor their memory, teach their systems, and live your life to the fullest, that would make them proud.   For all life is precious, and none can be replaced. --__--__-- Message: 3 From: Ollie Batts To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Date: Wed, 18 Mar 2009 10:25:23 +0000 Subject: [Eskrima] Upcoming UK seminar with Frans Stroeven Reply-To: eskrima@martialartsresource.net Just to let everyone know... In a little over four weeks, on 18/19th April 2009, one of Europe's leading Doce Pares Eskrima instructors, Frans Stroeven from Holland, will be coming to Cambridge, England, to conduct his very first seminar in the UK. He will be assisted by Bram Hoogendoorn. The weekend seminar will take place in the Leys Sports Complex, Trumpington Road, Cambridge, CB2 2AD Those who wish to attend, and also save themselves a massive 25% on the cost of attending, will need to register and pay on or before 11th April. That will allow them to attend the whole weekend for just £45, or else come for one day only for £30. From 12th April onwards, the fee will be £60 to attend the weekend, or £40 to attend one day only. The training times will be 1100 - 1600hrs (11am - 4pm) both days. Please arrive 15 minutes in advance of the start time, as will intend to start and finish on time. To see Frans in action, you can check out several of his video clips on YouTube, or go to my Facebook profile, where I have recently posted an original version. The death of GM Roland Dantes is a great loss for the FMA world, the Modern Arnis world and for all of us, his friends. To honor him, here is a obituary about him from our point of view in english: http://www.modernarnis.de/english/frameset.html and in german http://www.modernarnis.de/deutsch/frameset.html Also, as a tribute to him, I have published his appearance at the 2nd FMA Festival in Dortmund/Germany in 2004 on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UL5ihJRPvs8 Rest in Peace my friend.
