As the guy following him closed in, he reached up to a wall to grab the only available equaliser - a black cat. The cat was highly alarmed at being grabbed and thrown, but not as surprised as the potential attacker who had the cat stick his claws out and wrap right around his face, like in the film Alien. As he was panicking and struggling to peel the cat off his face, the getaway was easy. Lol." I have not posted here for years and confine myself to monitoring these days but cannot pass this one up: The strategy of employing a cat, preferrably a large one, has of course been described many years ago by the Monty Python ensemble. It was shown to be particularly effective against a banana. However, one would be well advised to consider carefully before employing the above self-defense strategy depending on one's locale. 1) In U.K. you could be charged under the Possession of Witchcraft Paraphernalia Act of 1648. I believe the maximum penalty is burning at the stake, although the act may have been repealed in Scotland recently. 2) In Canada, a permit for a Concealed Cat Carry is almost impossible to obtain. 3) Is such strategy permissible if you are a member of the Dog Brothers? OTOH I can see other benefits deploying a black cat in the above manner: If you miss the atacker the simple act of having the cat run across his path is bound to bring him bad luck! I am in the process of developing a self defense DVD covering the basic techniques of black cat fighting. My favourite is the two-cat siniwali, failing that the "tactical relocation" (i.e. being a complete pussy). You can pre-order. $99. We drive in straight lines (180 degrees) over here. In the Philippines, every degree is utilized, stop signs if any are ignored, vehicles drive within inches of each other and it does not matter where turns are made. I also really like GM Cacoy's style of blocking, which is different from Lameco and DTS Kali, but prefer the stepping of DTS Kali.? - See what I mean?)" I do not know Lameco, DTS and Cacoy styles and I too am not trying to start some stuff here but from the above I deduct that you are not sure that no single style has everything because you end your statement as a question. And because of this although you train primarily in Lameco you seek to fill the percieved gaps with Cacoy and DTS. My conclusion is that either your instruction in Lameco has either reached a peak either by your own doing or by your instructor or as previously mentioned in recent thread on the digest is that you are Amercanizing your pursuit of training. You can't carry it in California since the Leftist legislature there considers it a disguised pen weapon, but I would think you could get away with it in most other places, especially if you took another perma-marker and blacked out the words Cold Steel and Pocket Shark. I tell my students that something in your hand is usually better than nothing in a defensive situation. At one point in time 25 percent of injuries to NYPD officers that occurred during an arrest included a broken right hand. A good palm stick, flashlight, etc, feels no pain, will not break, and hits with more concentrated force than the same person using their fist alone.
