I will offer an albeit simplistic solution: 1. If there is any doubt as to what the intentions really are, the student should speak to the instructor privately and explain they are uncomfortable. 2. If they do not receive a satisfactory explanation and/or what is making them uncomfortable does not immediately stop, they should leave. 3. If they are reluctant to take step 2 because of a financial contract, they should seek the advice of a lawyer about the parameters involved. 4. Find another school as soon as possible, with hopefully good references, and not give up on martial arts because of this experience. Especially with people who have been victimized in some way before, they should not let this too be taken away from them.
