I thought they were not available in the U.S. >> No, ours is the regular kind. But we do have some that the Japanese Karate people use ... with an aluminum lining in it (they fight Kyoshiki style). My instructor got some from a friend of his. These are lightweight but they have no bend in them. I don't like them ... but you can go real hard in them ! They are very very expensive and I don't know where his friend got them. Never seen them on the market here so maybe he got them over in Japan. My instructor is better at these kinds of things than I am. But what you do is go with the hit and also yell when they kick you. Nothing is absolute, of course, and I have had broken ribs on both sides .... broken fingers and toes .... ::::sigh:::: thank goodness no broken nose .... :-) Illona ------------------------------ From: Taguek@aol.com Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 13:05:40 EDT Subject: the_dojang: Re: The_Dojang-Digest V6 #314 In a message dated 6/17/99 7:03:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time, the_dojang-owner@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com writes: << From: Stan Lim Date: Wed, 16 Jun 1999 22:45:27 -0700 Subject: the_dojang: Re: California Schools Kim asked: >We have an adult student who will be in the Mountain View / Palo Alto area >for approximately seven weeks.
