Time to chat it up, folks...< Aye, Cap'n! Hey Guys, I have been in contact with another list member who had inquired about training manuals, and as it ends up, we are doing a video-taped forms exchange as well as sharing information about our manuals... Well, I just figured I'd extend the "exchange offer" to everyone out there, this really seems like a great way to expand our knowlege of eachothers styles. Obviously we couldn't be sending video tapes to hundreds of members all over the world, but maybe the manual exchange would be a little more feasable. I have my schools manuals for beginner, intermediate and advanced gup levels on disk... it's a piece of cake for me to email them to interested parties. So I hereby start the "Manual Exchange '99" program with an opening bid of 3 cheesy manuals I made up myself in my spare time. Does anyone else out there have files they can share with us? Maybe if you don't have any, this might be a good way to spark an interest in your dojang about getting them together. Anyway, what it boils down to is this: I have manuals I am willing to email, if anyone is interested. I would also love to get some manuals in return. If you would like a copy of my manual drop me an email and I'll get them to you as soon as I can. (Sigh) Now back to work.... I also spent a lot of time closing my eyes and visualizing forms, and managed to put in some time with additional upper body resistance training. All in all I missed about 4 months of training before and after my surgery. Of course this wasn't an extremely limiting situation, so your mileage may vary. Is your question strictly rhetorical, or are you or someone you know injured? We hope not! Try a bit of mental imagery in the days and hours prior to the tourney. "See" yourself doing well, executing quick sharp techniques, countering well, controlling the match, etc. Ray Terry raymail@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com" Never allow yourself to fail in your visualization. Think about how you feel - - try to recreate the mood. Forms and board breaking work well here. Sparring too. Just "see" yourself doing it - correctly and perfectly every time. It will make a difference - studies prove it. ------------------------------ From: Paul Rogers Date: Fri, 25 Jun 1999 08:50:09 -0500 Subject: the_dojang: ATA World Championships...any skinny?
