My GM is a 8th degree BB, does anyone know how long must you train to get to that level?? and how many 8th degree BB are out there??? Sorry if these questions are elementary, I've always been curious about the time table and requirements on the high level belts. thanks, Aimee Wilson 8th Gup WTF Fort Worth, TX ------------------------------ From: ATATKD@aol.com Date: Fri, 25 Jun 1999 11:15:37 EDT Subject: the_dojang: Re: ATA Worlds In a message dated 6/25/99 10:57:18 AM Eastern Daylight Time, the_dojang-owner@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com writes: << Did anyone go to the subject ATA tournament in Little Rock a few weeks back? Is this true?? I don't know because I wasn't there! Was it a regular round kick or was it off some special combination he broke with?? Would it be more efficient and useful to people if we were able to put all these valuable material on a web site somewhere? I can't recall the name, but I am sure there is at least one web site where instructors can exchange training material. Or, is this a strictly "tit-for-tat" exchange? We hope not! Well, unfortunately during my last testing 2 Fridays ago, I re-injured my right knee. The doctor thinks I have a partial tear on my medial cruciate ligament. Minor enough that I can walk okay, but I need to take a break to let it heal properly. Thanks to Kerry, Illona and TKDTiger for the suggestions. I didn't think a ligament or tendon tear would heal w/o surgical repair.?.?. After an ACL repair, last year, I was in the Dojang for every HKD class until I could participate myself. While watching, pay close attention to everything that is going on. As someone is performing their forms, think about the next few moves they are about to make -- stay at least one step ahead of them, in your mind. Use this method for everything that is going on in the class to keep your anticipation sharp and your familiarity of the techniques as sharp as possible. Also, when you are not in class watching, use imagery -- visualize yourself doing everything that you already know. The best thing to do is attend the class as a spectator, the positive energy that is present in the Dojang can be revitalizing and help your healing process.
