Regarding Tie vs. Tae: After several years of intense observation I've deduced an interesting thing. When I slip up and mispronounce Tae Kwon Do my punches and kicks lose power, I move backwards during drills, my car won't start, and my cat barks at me when I get home. Of course, YVMV. ;) Kerry WTF TKD - ------------------------------ From: HKDTodd@aol.com Date: Wed, 19 Jan 2000 16:51:22 EST Subject: the_dojang: Swords Master West; Are the swords you are talking about straight or curved? Your not the only one. It is the price you pay for merely expressing yourself in a democratic society. But, take solace in the fact that as Mr. Terry has stated you have no worries here if you post to Martial Science or Kuk Sool list or ICHF, or a variety of lists out there. I can refer you to a few lists privately or here as I learn of them. That is what good karma is all about. Helping each other out with positive vibes, humor, and information. I just heard a song on the new CD by Dr. Dre (re: Dr. Dre--2000). It is the second cut. It is called "The Watcher". In the background vocal, the repeat word is "The Watcher". Does it make you paranoid that there is a Watcher somewhere amongst our midst ? Not me although I am aware of a presence among us. But who cares. I am only paranoid when taking a subway late at night in Chicago or New York. Now that is true paranoia based on realistic environments versus a particular mindset conjured up in a particular individual's brain for no reason. Keep posting and move forward. Have a nice week. There is a fairly good site on the Underground Forum. I particularly like the work and opinions of Tony Blauer who does a lot of realistic street and real fight psychology stuff. I believe all instructors on this list, of which I am not one, could benefit if they incorporate some of the work of this individual in their classes. Just my opinion. In Ray Terry's neck of the woods there is a very good BJJ instructor, Mr. Roy Harris out of San Diego, CA. He has put together a good series of basic techniques on BJJ and hook wrestling. Something to ponder. Finally, just because my ground grappling techniques are terrible I purchased several months ago a great series by Pedro Cavalho. These are by far the best ground grappling tapes around (other than the popular Vale Tudo series by Mario Sperry). I realize we are on a Korean martial arts list. But, I am providing information based on a question posed above. Keep posting and keep roasting. Ken McD... __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
