Tell us more... Response # 1. Master West removed from a list ? I personally met Master West. Great guy who is down to earth, learned, and a true leader in the Martial Arts community. He did a personal favor for me although he did not have to. Hopefully, I can be a student of his in the future. He was recently nominated and selected for International Hapkido/Martial Artist of the Year (uncertain if I have the correct award title). A man like this removed from another list for merely posting here. Wow ? Response # 2. The Kuk Sool list is a small list but several members post to the Martial Science list and perhaps to this list. I believe Master Whalen has recently started posting there. Additionally, I heard that there was a guy on that list who slammed the infamous G guy for his shenanigans. I am now subsribing again. It is run by Chulmin Lee who does not care if you post on other lists. You can locate this list by the following procedure: a. Contact Listmaster@Kuksool.com b. Go to www.areokorea.com/muye. When there type subsribe to either a digest or individual format. There are interested posters who want to discuss various aspects of Korean Martial Arts. In particular, the similarity between Hapkido and Kuk Sool Won. Also beaware that "The Watcher" lurks there and he recently lost a flame war. But, if you were removed from another list for posting here you won't be removed from here for posting there, re: Kuk Sool list. Follow that. Off to the gym. Working on my lats and fats. Ken McD... Also, he has instituted a three strike rule which attempts to eliminate flaming wars. Again, off to the gym. Peace all. Keep posting and roasting. I was fortunate enough to attend the 60th birthday celebration on my instructor. Among some of the other guests were Chiefmaster McKenzie, Master Godwin, and Master Nabors, along with their instructor, Do Ju Nim Ji. Wow...what a weekend! Do Ju Nim Ji taught part of a seminar on Saturday. He let us know in no uncertain terms that, from now on, my instructor is not called "Master" or "Grandmaster" or "Dr.", but is to be "Do Ju Nim " Kimm, as the founder of Han Mu Do. He told the crowd gathered for the birthday celebration the same thing that evening. My thanks go out to Do Ju Nim Ji and his excellent staff of instructors. The only seminars I've enjoyed as much are our own. I would also like to thank some of my new friends from this list who attended. I understand it is termed 'han gup' in Korean and it typically results in a big blowout. Congrats to Do Ju Kimm on his very special occasion! There is a fairly good site on the Underground Forum. I particularly like the work and opinions of Tony Blauer who does a lot of realistic street and real fight psychology stuff. I believe all instructors on this list, of which I am not one, could benefit if they incorporate some of the work of this individual in their classes. Just my opinion. In Ray Terry's neck of the woods there is a very good BJJ instructor, Mr. Roy Harris out of San Diego, CA. He has put together a good series of basic techniques on BJJ and hook wrestling. Something to ponder. Finally, just because my ground grappling techniques are terrible I purchased several months ago a great series by Pedro Cavalho. These are by far the best ground grappling tapes around (other than the popular Vale Tudo series by Mario Sperry). I realize we are on a Korean martial arts list. But, I am providing information based on a question posed above. Keep posting and keep roasting. In case people up in Uijongbu and TDC have heard, the folks at Seoul American High School had to contend with not one, but TWO frickin' bomb threats this week. Tuesday morning, I'm walking to school and see a speeding MP car roll past. When I turn to walk down 8th Army Drive, lo and behold they have the street blocked off from Burger King to past the Hartell House entrance (anyone besides myself familiar with Yongsan will know what I"m talking about, sorry to those of ya not here). I went to my work-study supervisor and checked in, then went on my merry way home. I never made it back to school due to AFKN's deliquency in also scrolling the message on the screen, regardless of whether or not the AMA was on. They made the announcement on Eagle-FM, but I had since turned off the radio as nothing but music was playing prior to 1100. At any rate, school was normal Wednesday, but today had to be a day. I was walking to school, and a lady stopped in her car to ask me if I was a high school student. I replied to her the fact I am, and she directed me towards Collier. Now, we didnt' get out of there until almost 1000 today, but the simple fact remains that someone got stupid enough to call in and disrupt our learning. This is a federal offense. How things will play out, I have no idea, but I just posted this to let y'all know that things are not all as they seem on the other side of the world. I hope CID collars the idiot who called in both threats. Things should wrap up soon. Columbine obviously somehow inspired our Unabomber wannabe. I hope time at Leavenworth inspires him to rethink his motives. (We know the caller is not female.) ===== ~~Kim Jones *ladytimberland@yahoo.com* ICQ: 52828008 AOL: Lady Timberland __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
