Now when only one of us is available to teach the number of students can sometimes seem overwhelming also some of our children have behaviour problems. Asking the opinion of some of the esteemed instructors on this board is it wise to split the older students into a senior class? >> I would most definitely agree that a second, older class be established immediately! I put my 11 year olds in with the teens and adult classes ... they are way too old for the kids class. And most of them are a head taller than I am at that age. (5' tall ... save ya from asking) ;-) And when I put them in there ... it is with the understanding that they must act the age of a teen and respect the elders in there at all times ................. orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ..... back to the kids class they go! Haven't had any problems so far. This is across the board - forms, one-steps, sparring, board breaks, self-defense, etc. So, we could have a brand new white belt, starting in May, who would begin learning the YELLOW belt material, along with the rest of their class! >> Not the material of your rank? This makes no sense to me. Why learn Black Belt material at White Belt level and then Red Belt and then Blue Belt ... then lower and lower. It is supposed to be steps going up ... not down. Plain hogwash to me. ATA is doing this ...? All the ATA schools? Or did I misunderstand that ? The entire Chosun dynasty royal records on CD-ROM, also the History of Koryu Dynasty and a bunch of other stuff can be used through the internet. Primarily I wanted to learn from his JKD and Kali experiences (he teaches Green Berets). But my question is, and if someone prefers to explain off line, that's fine - what is the principle difference between the ITF and the WTF? I believe Gen Choi is affiliated with the ITF? Do they teach the same things and are merely administratively different organizations? Which one is affiliated with the AAU? Soo Bahk! I saw a picture in the Jan 2000 TKD Times that had Dale Drouillard seated with GM Kang Uk Lee of the International Tang Soo Do Federation UK (not C.S. Kim's organization). I had thought perhaps Mr. Drouillard had retired totally or had passed, but he was the first American to be awarded the rank of Cho Dan by Grandmaster Hwang Kee of the Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan. I would love to contact him but don't know how. Are there any subscribers to this Digest that train at the First American Moo Duk Kwan? My interest is historical. Soo Bahk!! The USTU is the US's rep to the WTF. Re ITF vs. WTF, the forms are different, the politics are different. From what I see, the ITF techniques are more in line with the way TSD/SBD techniques are done. Others may not agree...
