If you recall I suggested you visit here since Ray does an excellent job. Master West and Masters Whalen, Booth, Rogers, and many others (not to slight those I did not mention herein), post here. Your in good company. Very little flaming on this list and glad to see another major contributor. As soon as I get my other life in order I would love to attend seminars offered by Master West. Right now, I'm hoping for some advice on where to purchase some dojang floormats. I found the manufacturer website for Sukuoo industries and this appears to be the interlocking version I saw in my old school. I'm needing some for my new school and I'm searching for any distributors that might be close to Austin, Texas. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks, Decided 1st Degree Black Belt within ITA - David K. Wilson> Response: In a previous post Master West recommended 1-800-The Mats. They are in PA. I have used Marathon Mats out of Canada. I believe they have the best prices.Tiffin Mats are also good. McD... __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! I used to compete a long time ago and stopped because of tourney politics. I then began striving to think about MA as an art and as something I needed to learn to defend myself (hence, sparring is not street fighting/SD). I just switched schools recently to ITF Tae Kwon Do and my school is attending the National tournament in Hartford, CT in April. I will be missing my regular testing date and I was told I can test the night before the tournament. My instructor mentioned to me that I should participate and now I am wavering... So here are my questions: 1. I will be attending as a lower rank, even though I have been studying for years. I don't think it is fair, but my instructor assures me that many competitors from all over the world test only once a year and that many are good. Is this fair? 2. Have any of you attended the ITF National Tourney before? What are the politics? 3. How do I train for a tourney that is one month away? Do you have any suggestions? I know these questions run all over the place but any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Tracey Johnson Blacksburg, VA __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? My Sabum added brown belt as a black belt candidate indicator. V/R Rod At 05:53 PM 2/28/00 -0800, you wrote: >10 years ago I only had orange, green, red and black. I wish I could tell you. I am not a school owner, but I do know that the $25/year or $75/5 years (I think) covers registration in the association, tracking of all ATA activities (rank testings, Judging Certification, Instructor Certification, tournament participation - including top 10 tracking), quarterly magazine, web site, and this insurance......I believe this is a "personal injury", health related insurance, not just a liability (don't sue me) insurance. Hope that helps.
