Anyone out there know the current whereabouts and doings of Grandmaster James A. Wilson, of the San Diego area? Last time I saw him was in Orlando at the US Open that was held at the Disney Sport Complex. I think that was early 1998? Anyhow, while sharing a shuttle from the airport, he told me was in, or had just completed, a "special medical program for individuals with a legal background at a little known San Diego branch of Harvard University." I suspected he may have been just pulling my leg, but others have told me that Mr. Wilson was becoming a doctor, too. During the 12 years I lived there, Mr. Wilson was a fixture of the USTU scene -- especially that of Southern California, but he seems to have disappeared about a year, or so, ago. Anyone know what is up, or what has become of his martial arts program in the Chula Vista/National City area? He then moved to Colorado and I never heard from him again but there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of those days and what they meant to me and how he spoke to us about what A Black Belt was and how we should act. Fate had brought me to a different Art(Hapkido) after joining the military that had totally changed my life. And if it were not for my going into the Army and my instructor leaving I would still be his student Today and Probably be teaching Moo-Du-Kwan under my first Korean Master Bob Follett. Recently (yesterday) Jose, Had made contact with him and told him about me and he was as surprised about me as I was about him.I had tears him my eyes reading a letter from him and I was happy to hear that he is still in the arts and living in my state,I have not seen him in 26 years and I still consider him my first Korean Master.I know he has seen my postings without knowing who I am which is strange. Now he is aware I am still in the arts and I will always give my students the attention he gave me and hope I am some day the instructor he was.
