Date: Fri, 5 May 2000 10:51:05 -0400 Subject: the_dojang: Orlando Florida The Orlando area is kind of unique, there are many martial arts schools in this area, I teach Hapkido in Daytona Beach which is approx. 50 miles from downtown Orlando. In the Orlando area there is a place called East Coast Martial Arts. This place is a local store that sells every kind of martial arts gear known to mankind. It is located on East Colonial Blvd. or Route 50. You can buy everything from a jock strap to an authentic 600 year old samurai sword there! The owner is named Bob Elder and he teaches Toyama Ryu Sword, and all the employees are martial artists. Basically this place is the mecca for all the central florida martial artists to buy and network anything to do with the arts. The phone number at East Coast is 1(407) 896-2487, when your friend goes to Orlando tell him to check this place out first. Ask for Carl and tell him that Michael Tomlinson suggested he ask them for some school recommendations, this will save your buddy a lot of frustration and probably money, and will hook him up with the best in the area right away. Good luck. Michael Tomlinson ------------------------------ From: "Tomlinson, Michael E." I teach Hapkido at the International Taekwondo Academy in Daytona Beach. The TKD there is WTF and is top notch, it is run by Master Il Un Chung and he is awesome. He also has visiting Korean instructors rotate on work visa's and come over and help him with the training. There is a guy there now named Master Wong, he can't speak hardly any english but he can sure kick!!! Hello, > That is too cute...the "baby" of the class wearing the red and > black uniform...and you would normally associate red and black > with a warning...especially from a tiny tiny munchkin. Do you > know what size the uniform is? The boy is ca. 115 cm "big" ;) and the uniform perfectly suits him. I`m not sure what size it is since the uniform was in fact self-made by my friend. I hope to make a picture of the kid soon for my website and I`ll let you know when it will be there.
