Please understand that they are mostly regurgitated facts that I put together from several studies. It is hard to determine right from wrong since there are so many versions of the truth. The best thing I could do is piece together things that were most consistent in other researches and sew them together to put a report on the site. These reports were done with only a few weeks of research and I do not proclaim them to be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Master Jere Hilland does and excellent report on the history of Hapkido and I highly recommend it for anyone interested. I believe there is a link to his website at the end of my report. If people have other thoughts, backed up by facts, then I am more than willing to listen and, if need be, change what I have. The truth is out there. Good luck on your research and I look forward to reading your report someday. The style is said to be very effective in its attacking mechanism which includes a lot of feints and erratic movement. We are all training a style for various reasons, one of which is (or was) self defence. Has anyone looked at how effective your training methods would be against your local fighters (If you are not one of them:))who have probably developed some method/style of fighting. I'm not talking an AK47 but rather the styles used by those who do not carry guns(by choice or otherwise). I think times have changed - and assume that in 10 more years, it just might be considered legit. irregardless - Non-Standard [Perhaps from ir(respective) + regardless.] Usage Note: The label Non-Standard does only approximate justice to the status of irregardless. More precisely, it is a form that many people mistakenly believe to be a correct usage in formal style but that in fact has no legitimate antecedents in either standard or nonstandard varieties. (The word was likely coined from a blend of irrespective and regardless.) Perhaps this is why critics have sometimes insisted that there is “no such word” as irregardless, a charge they would not think of leveling at a bona fide nonstandard word such as ain't, which has an ancient genealogy. ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Mon, 8 May 2000 14:58:43 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [none] ------------------------------ End of The_Dojang-Digest V7 #322 ******************************** It's a great day for Taekwondo!
