Anita, this is a great idea! Thank you! I will suggest it to the foster mom! Silke ------------------------------ From: Cookson Family Date: Sun, 14 May 2000 13:15:02 -0700 Subject: the_dojang: Foster Kids At this year's Georgia State Championships, the tournament director did an exceptional presentation on the benefits of TKD for kids of all backgrounds, disabilities, and risk factors. I can't provide specifics, but he also quoted several studies that supported the positive behavioral changes and self esteem impacts of martial arts. This year's tournament was hosted by the GSTA officers (versus a local dojang). I suggest that contact GSTA directly for more information about the sources cited at the presentation. Try GSTA officers at one of these numbers: Mr. Young Seon Seo (912) 432-0234 Mr. Terry Millwood (770) 982-0333 Both of these men are GSTA officers and can direct you to the tournament director and his sources. Try Terry first, as he was more involved with planning this year's event. Good Luck! If you find something useful, perhaps you could post the sources back to the list?!?
