"Supreme" Grandmaster Ro, Byung Jick has received this title more so from his son wanting to emphasize his father's role in the development of Song Moo Kwan (and Taekwondo) more than GM Ro, Byung Jick trying to claim things he shouldn't. I would like to remind that knowledge is often two-edged, and history has many examples of readers misapplying the philosophy of others. That Hitler went wrong is not an indictment of Nietzche's work or the man. In broad terms, the crusades were fought by later followers of a pretty pacifistic guy. Would we judge him because of the wrongness of his followers?"---- That was the poster's point. He didn't say that Neitzche was bad, he said others, using narrow minded logic, could perceive him as bad. _______________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? He also said that he came not to bring peace, but a sword. Equating Jesus and Christianity with pacificism is a relatively modern concept that fails to take into account things like what he actually said. I am not saying the Crusades were a good idea, I just don't know if we should make all Christians become pacifists. All too often pacifism devolves into the belief that NOTHING is worth fighting for. I have one of his books and his video on how to survive a knife fight. Does anyone on this list know him or have worked with him? He seems very knowledgeable and I am just wondering what others experience with Mr. Macyoung are. I specifically bought the tape on surviving a knife fight since we spend NO time in my TKD class on this issue. The video seemed credible and the techniques looked practical. ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Mon, 19 Jun 2000 11:08:01 PDT Subject: Re: the_dojang: More informatio on Marc "Animal" Macyoung? > I have one of his books and his video on how > to survive a knife fight. "Animal" is active on our Eskrima-Digest list. He certainly has a wealth of practical experience. Alain B. is also good friends with him.
