Regardless, my answer would be that if it was worth it to you, it was an "Ok Price," which you have alredy proven to be the case. In any event, do enjoy your reading. I happen to find myself in the area, but all the information you sent me is not. I was wondering if you have a hapkido class on Friday or Saturday and wouldn't mind a visitor. Kwan Jang Dan Rogers ------------------------------ From: HwarangTSD@aol.com Date: Thu, 22 Jun 2000 20:48:54 EDT Subject: the_dojang: re: Tao art's wolf pack Well written. As far as men being sodomized, VA law provides that deadly force may be used in the protection of life and limb. In the commonwealth, I believe assault or threat of assault, by three or more persons is considered deadly force, meaning that according to the Doctrine of Neccessary force, one may utilize whatever force necessary to end the threat. Please note that ending the threat may be as simple as removing yourself from said threat, it does not have to entail the usage of deadly force. As far as wolf packs go, I couldn't have said it better myself. There are few occurances of them spontaneously developing. Avoidance ia always the best policy. It is important to develop an I don't care what I have to do you to get home safely attitude. This attitude is a survivors attitude. To be honest, I didn't develop it until , I was staring down the barrel of a 38, when I was 23. The perp was staring down the barrel of my 9mm, and we were at point blank range. I was lucky. I didn't fire and was able to de-escalate the situation. Afterwards, it was neccessary to clean myself :) Thats when I learned the importance of this attitude. It could have been very very bad. In my mind, most escalation of situations is done *before* the physical confrontation. This is done by "ego hooking" - calling the men names and/or insulting them. Once they lay hands on you, your goal is to escape. If you believe your life is in danger, then do *whatever* it takes to stop them and escape. >> On a second read, this didnt come out right... what I meant to say was that most escalating occurs when people call names, etc and cause ego hooking - NOT something you want to do! Once an attacker lays hands on you, you would not be escalating by seeking to escape. If you believe your life is in danger, then I believe there is no such thing as "escalating" - you are already in grave danger. So all you are doing is meeting that danger with the appropriate force (lethal, if need be). Hope that clarifies.
