They include some detailed information from Newspapers so the source is obvious, but some of it is not clear where the source was. Very interesting though! It seems to be the most extensive, best researched article I've seen. Note it was translated from Korean, so the authors were able to read source texts written in Korean. The scientist in me wants to see the Bibilography and references though... :^) Is there any documentation on what ranks the early Tae Kwon Do pioneers held in Japanese martial arts (Gen Choi, Woon-Kook Lee, etc.)? Is there anyway that some of this could be checked? The Yellow Pages is a list of schools made up from the people on various martial arts related lists. The idea of the list is to inform people where they might find a school that they can train at while visiting or moving into a new area. This covers all styles of martial arts. This is an international listing. You can view the Yellow Pages is via the web site: www.k2nesoft.com/~apreston/Yellow.Pages.html If you have sent me mail with your information and you do not see it on the list, please re-send it since I may have lost it...:) I would suggest that everyone look up their listing information and make sure it is current and correct correct. If your school is not there, fill out the form in the page and it will be added. The list is international and covers all sorts of arts. If you send me a form, it will be added to the list in a day or two. If you do not see it, then resend it after a couple of days. Please use the form on the web page since I have the updates semi-automated with the form. If you do not send your information with the form, I must do the work by hand and it will take longer for your listing to appear. One additional note, if you have your own web page for your school, you can added an html link to it in the additional information and it will allow people to automatically see a link to your site. Due to an accident and a problem with some backups, I lost the complete listing for California. If you have a school or attend one in California, please take a moment to enter your information. I am re-building the California list. Thank You. ------------------------------ From: jsegovia@mindspring.com Date: Fri, 23 Jun 2000 14:19:21 -0400 Subject: the_dojang: Black Belt Test at MooYe Kwan Last Saturday, June 17th, was a hot, humid testing day at the Quincy, MA dojang of Hapkido MooYe Kwan under Master Harold Whalen. Despite the heat, many Hapkido players earned their promotions, and three, Ray Prince, Jan Lumpkin and Elena Finizio, earned their 1st Degree Black Belt. The test lasted about five hours, during which the candidates went through techniques from each area, including hand strikes, kicks, break-aways from wrist grab, hoshinsul defenses against all kinds of grabs and chokes, defenses against punches and kicks, defenses against knife and gun, long pole, dan bong and cane techniques and sparring. The techniques were all 'to the mat' (and sometimes even off the mat - ouch!). I was Jan Lumpkin's 'dummy' and I can vouch for the fact she knew her stuff. Each candidate was well-prepared and, despite the expected nerves, proved they were more than ready for the next step in their martial arts journey. Congratulations! ------------------------------ From: SallyBaughn@aol.com Date: Fri, 23 Jun 2000 17:36:04 EDT Subject: the_dojang: Re: Book Bucks In a message dated 6/22/00 11:05:18 PM Eastern Daylight Time, the_dojang-owner@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com writes: << I just got hold of the 1965 TKD book by maj.gen.
