However, their history unfolds the development of the WTF and Kukkiwon with little information about the growth and development of other organizations and styles of TKD. However, as other organizations also taint the history of TKD without regard to other styles and individuals, I suppose this has become accepted practice. Maybe it beomes incumbent upon the many instructors and students on lists like this one to encourage a more universal, wholistic view of the history of TKD? At the same time, I wonder how this would affect one's loyalty to a given style or instructor? As well, how would one's style or instructor regard the student that started questioning his\her (or the otherwise "official") history of TKD? In any case, I would hope that eventually a true, and objective, "modern history" of TKD would exclude any prejudices and reflect a more encompassing, comprehensive account. As far as it has gone it seems to cover well the early events. What would you have them add? Which Hall of Fame is it that you have been inducted into? Kwan Jang Dan Rogers ------------------------------ From: LAHapkido@aol.com Date: Tue, 27 Jun 2000 14:08:22 EDT Subject: the_dojang: Juko-Kai In defense of Juko-Kai and their members, they all train hard and believe in what they are doing. Unlike many of the others that I have seen in my 35 years in the Martial Arts they are willing to answer the call. They do not pretend to be anything other than, serious Martial Artist that place infuses on being able to take a strike to varies parts of their body and absorb it with little or no effect. The Combat Ki team has demonstrated their technique to members of the Dallas Cowboys as well as others in the U.S. and in Japan too. In reference to why they do not get hit in the face, I 'm not sure however if you go to North Carolina I would bet that their is someone on the Combat Ki Team that would give you the opportunity to do so. These people are serious and are always willing to show just how serious they are. What they do was and will never be considered anything other than COMBAT. Do I agree with this type of training and teaching? I feel that if they are people that want this training and you can help them with their goal than that is between the people involved. Do I think it is good for the general public to see this type of training and teaching taking place today? Absolutely not! Some things are better left alone.
