Hrrm. That doesn't make sense. ;) I think he meant something more like "Conjugi stamus," or "united we stand." - -Sarah Pride- >> It means (roughly) "We stand as one" The gentle man was referring to a police expression from one officer to another expressing the unity of the thin blue line. Meaning we alone keep society's worst from harming society's best. My two cents worth. And it meant alot seeing it posted. Jack Ouellette >> Oh, OK! It is an Official Saying of some sort. I am sorry if my "correction" seemed flippant or rude, then. By a stretch, it could mean "we stand as one," I suppose. I've often noticed that mottos and sayings in Latin seem a little dubious when translated. They're idioms, I guess. :) - -Sarah Pride- ------------------------------ From: d.d.parker@juno.com Date: Tue, 18 Jul 2000 10:09:01 -0600 Subject: the_dojang: Re: The_Dojang-Digest V7 #482 Tim, Could you please explain what "walking pushups" are? You only score with kicks to > the sides, never the face or back, of head AFAIK, in World Tang Soo Do Association sparring, head contact (with the hands/feet) is allowed at the black belt level. The general rule of thumb I was told was that any contact which "made the headgear move" was excessive and disallowed. WTSDA also disallows any "blind" hand techniques, which means e.g. you've got to be looking at your target to backfist ... I was looking through my copy of Dr. Kimm's Hapkido II book last night. It had been a couple of years since I last reviewed it. And there they were... pictures of list members Steve Kincade (+ wife) and JR West (+ wife). It looked like Steve even had the pleasure of being on the wrong end of some of Dr. Kimm's techniques during the photo shoot. Nice to put a face with an email addr. :) Are any other list members shown in Dr. Kimm's books?
