Master DeAlba of the Farangdo Mu Sul was excellent. He drilled us in basic knife fighting as well joint locks. Following that was Soke Warren Harris of the Nisei Bujitsu drilling us in more joint locks, throws, and some grappling. Both men showed great skill in teaching us in a very basic matter that event the white belts with only one month exposure to the martial arts was able to pick up these techniques with little confusion. They both showed great knowledge in the tradition of their arts, while still applying the techniques in a more modern form. I highly recommend to attend one of these gentlemen's seminars if you have a chance. I woke up today feeling pain in spots where I never knew I had spots before. Take it to Them. b. Ve-Te's for the Street c. Mugging Tapes The shock is how Professor James goes beserk on his "Ukes", re: shots to eyes, throat, groin, knees, stomping opponent when he is down, using knees, elbows, backfist, and joint lock techniques. It is not pretty but effective. To some that may be shocking. To others nothing. His training partners in the tape appear to be experiencing a little pain. She loved it, and said it was a great workout for strength and stretch. Her biggest problem was the personality of the participants. Many ballet students, as you said. Say no more. There are two kinds of Pilates, apparently. One uses machines that put your limbs where they are supposed to be - these are expensive so I assume that is what you are referring to. The other is a freestyle - same personalities but no machines. I tried the freestyle at a free class given at our club. Did not care for it - - would have preferred yoga. Further, theis legend goes on to explain that this is why all true Shaolin styles have and 18 hands type of set. (In the Chinese arts a set is what we call a form and a form is what we call a technique) Assuming that this is correct, It would be virtually impossible to determine from where the Sip Pal Gi comes from. It is frequently stated that we should drink 64 oz of water per day. More, of course, would be required for hydration when involved in heavy exercise for longer periods of time. The question is if 64 oz per day is good is 128 oz per day better? Or is max benefit (for a non-heavy workout day) attained at 64 oz?
