As General Choi is rumored to be stepping down as President of the ITF at the World Championships in January, Choi Jung Hwa becomes ITF President and the General accepts appointment as WTF President. The unification process begins again? Like big business, Taekwon-Do becomes globalized and marketed under different "brand" names? There is an article on Chen Taiji which is an interview with Master Yang Yang. In it there are illustrations of several counter Chin na (they spell it Quina) techniques. These are defenses against and counters to joint locks. It should be of interest to many of the Hapkido folks out here as well as jujitsu and Aikido practitioners. I am curious whether any of the Hapkido Masters on the list have any experience with Chin na (Quina) and can comment on similarities and differences. Also in this issue of the Journal there is and advertisement for a Hapkido book, Hapkido: Traditions, Philosophy, and Technique, by Marc Tedeschi. It looks very good and very comprehensive. Has any one seen this book or heard of the author?
