I have agreeed with you many times on the net about this statement. Many of the topics taught by myself are dealt with in Chin na. I teach the catagorize of control and the principles as taught to me by many Hapkido masters. I have had discussions with GM In Sun Seo and he too acknowledges a similarity between Hapkido and Chin Na techniques as well as the differences. This may be due to the fact that Kuk Sool has many Chinese influences as well. Michael Rowe Practice, Practice, Practice or BONK BONK on the head. You too, Ray. I think that the Constitution and our free society requires more time and trouble than a large percentage of our fellow citizens are willing to give. It takes time and effort to be educated, sift through all the editorializations and make informed decisions. I fear that most people are being told what to believe and what to do by mass media. No, I don't think its a conspiracy. It is just easier if someone tells you what to believe. You don't have to learn how the government works, or whose doing what. You don't have to keep informed about what's going on in the country and world or why. All you have to do is relax and listen to the media. They will tell you what the problem is, who can fix it, and the best way to fix it to make us safer. After all, making us safe is the government's job. So what if we can't buy a semi-automatic weapon any more. I don't have one, I don't want one and nobody else should either. That will make us all safer. I am not interested in reading that book and no one else should be either. Why not just ban those types of books so our streets will be safer. I believe what the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the constitution were informed citizens who were interested in freedom and understood the cost. Not just on the battlefield. But day to day, year in and year out. Danny ------------------------------ From: "Hugh Williamson" Date: Mon, 21 Aug 2000 15:41:08 -0300 Subject: the_dojang: Books by W.E. Fairbairn Books by W.E. Time to move the 1st Am/BoR thread to private email. Those with something to say have had more than enough time and given this is a worldwide forum, the topic is of limited interest. No, more. Thanks. Ray Terry raymail@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com ------------------------------ From: "Shaun M. It was one of the best 75 minutes we've ever had in class. It was *very* informative for me and for my students. I would recommend it for any teacher to give their students another perspective on the use of force. Shaun M. I would send this to the Police Tactics list but it does not seem active. My Chief has requested I do some research for our police department, so naturally I cheat and go straight to my friends on this list :-> . We want to supplement our road patrol officers standard Defensive Tactics training with an outside trainer type seminar - this would include something like Ground Fighting, Surviving Edged Weapons, etc. We are a 35 person local department in South Florida and this seminar would be taught in-house. My question to all my friends is this, have any of you taken any of these courses? Does your department have any experience with this type of training? Who would you recommend? What, in your own personal opinion, would be your vote for a priority in this type of training? Send to the list or send to me personally. Thank you very much for the feedback! ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Mon, 21 Aug 2000 14:23:34 PDT Subject: the_dojang: . ------------------------------ End of The_Dojang-Digest V7 #562 ******************************** It's a great day for Taekwondo!
