I said I could not recommend Summit Martial Arts at that time. This was based on some negative things I had been told. However, since that time, I have visited the school and talked to the owner and some of the students. A number of the students spoke very highly of the program, one of which used to attend the University program, so I have known her for a few years. She said the school had an excellent program and she really enjoyed learning there. So I would add this to the list of schools to check out in Missoula. This school has a TKD program, a Combat HKD program, and a weapons class, as well as the aerobic kickboxing classes. When choosing a school, it comes down to finding a school you are comfortable in, enjoy the atmosphere, are learning a style that fits your goals, etc. So shop around and find what is right for you! This included judo, jiu jitsu, some types of karate and of course, tkd. The Korean Tigers did a very impressive demo. I was amazed at some of the techniques, like kicking an apple off a sword held about 8 feet above the ground.... Anyway the reason I am posting this is that Eurosport seems to be quite keen on tkd (they also have shown some short broadcasts about it in their "Road to Sydney" programmes) and I would be very surprised if they did not broadcast the Olympic tkd competition later on this month. I don't know if you can get this channel in the US, their website is www.eurosport.com where you can find out where the channel is available. I will find out in a week or two when they will be showing the tkd and will post the times here, if anyone's interested. I guess I have that generic look or something?? :-) Since '93 I've been with the World Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do Federation with Grandmaster Kim Jae-Joon. I've more recently also aligned with the United States Korean Martial Arts Federation under Grandmaster JR West. I have a small dojang in North Houston (Spring) Texas. Although I have friends in many of the other major TSD organizations, I don't believe I even know anyone in the International TSD Federation. I have attended an International TSD Tournament in Tampa Florida several times, but I'm not sure if you are referring to that or not.
