GP: Of course, gotta have air conditioning! and sometimes we practice outside. Why not just show up in your street/work cloths or maybe in a suit with a bunch of friends and just beat the snott out of each other in the parking lot? Isn't that more realistic? GP: My street/work clothes are my dobak. While I'm thinking about it, do you practice shooting people, or do you have anyone shoot at you? Why not, isn't that what they do in the streets? GP: Haven't you ever heard of paint ball? Have you ever worked out with a sword? Why?? People don't carry around swords anymore... GP: heck no, I don't own a sword, but I do have a knife, a few kali sticks, boots, and a cane from Cane Masters. gary pieratt New CKC Web Page ------------------------------ From: MissIllona@aol.com Date: Thu, 11 Jan 2001 00:15:33 EST Subject: the_dojang: Re: Staying Well In a message dated 1/10/2001 7:17:11 PM Pacific Standard Time, the_dojang-owner@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com writes: << Lee, you got the flu BECAUSE you had a flu shot. I would also like to know which ones you take. I don't get the flu shot for the same reason. I had the worst flu in my whole life the year I got a flu shot ... wanted to die! Have never gotten a shot since and I have faired much better. But I take herbs everyday too ... but the kind that keep my blood pressure down and keep me calm in stress situations (I deal with a lot of parents here ). Since I am self employed I don't have medical insurance (nor can I afford any of the ones out there) ... so I was training a nurse here and she told me to go to the feed store where they sell veterinary supplies for animals ... and I get my medicine there when I am really ill. They have penicillin, ampicillin, amoxicillin, erythromycin, tetricycline there for dogs, cats, and fish. Says not for human consumption ... but it gets me well and it is way cheaper than what the doctor prescribes. Now if they only had high blood pressure medicine for dogs ... I would be all set. LOL But I would never prescribe anyone else to do this ... but for me I am fine with it. A couple of things I noted that I disagree with though. 1. I am hardly alive between 5 and 8 in the morning. It takes a few cups of coffee. But, I can see where there are others going to work that time of day. 2. I want you and any other woman to practice getting your pepper spray out very quickly. Put it where you usually do and see what happens. I am not a advocate of pepper spray. For one, you point that thing at him and chances are it is pointing the wrong way. Two, he may be upwind of you and you get the full extent of the spray. Three, if that sucker is in your purse, chances are you are not going to grab that on the first try. And I have gotten a flu shot for about as long as they have been readily available and had never gotten a bad case of the flu since (bad = where you are in bed for a week super sick). Both of these non-scientific approaches really provide no useful info what so ever, yes?
