You, and everyone else are ALWAYS welcome at my dojang...." Thanks for the invite. I hope you will let everyone know when you anticipate the next seminar after this one at the beginning of April. I noticed that you didn't stipulate any particular sword Form so I am going to conclude that this is a more independent or generic approach to sword? Can I also guess that you wouldn't object to participation by practitioners of the "Japanese persuasion" or would you prefer to limit it to essentially Korean Form. Are there Hyungs that you are working up to or that you hope to examine later? Not that I am interested or anything :-) . BTW: I found my copies of GM Koos' videos. They reflect a distinctly Japanese influence before he reverted to more traditional Korean sword but it gives a great view of the man in action and a pretty decent overview of genral sword handling. Any info anyone can give me would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help...". I posted a comment a couple of months back but I never get tired of beating the drum for teachers who embody the very best that the Korean arts have to offer, and I would put Master Lee into this category. The Jung Do school is actually a couple of doors west of Montrose at Kedzie and on the north side of the street. The school has probably been there since before Gawd was in grade school and the atmosphere is genuine ol' time Hapkido. Master Lee never said much about the derivation of his art referring to it as "Jung Do" rather than "Hapkido". The biomechanics suggest a pretty close connection with that used by GM Ji. GM Gedo Chang is not too far away in Lombard and I had a chance to train with him briefly. GM Lees' technique is a bit tighter that GM Changs' which would put him pretty close to the Sin Moo Hapkido approach. When I was there some years back there was no end of kids everywhere except the latest classes which closed out about 9pm, I think. GM Lee also teaches kicks very reminiscent of GM Jis' kicks which I have found to be higher and looser than most. GM Lee still tests for each of his ranks, though I don't remember if he was affiliated with any particular organization. I remember his rates to be reasonable, and while he didn't use a contract, I think people paid on a quarterly and half-year basis.I know that his concern for his students and their best interests permeates everything he does. The man is a tribute to the art. I hope you get a chance to train with him. best Wishes, Bruce W Sims www.midwesthapkido.com ------------------------------ From: Ray Terry Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2001 9:21:02 PST Subject: Re: the_dojang: Modern History of Taekwondo > Is anymore of the "Modern History of Taekwondo" going to be translated? > > I noticed some holes.
