Not trying to cause any problems; however, I have never heard of this statute. As an instructor who sometimes does private lessons with members of the opposite sex in Hapkido, which of course does use touching, I'd like to review this subsection and title. Thank you, Frank Frank, I am not from Virginia, but I would look in the penal laws under sexual assault. I am sure that one of the key elements will be unwelcome and offensive touching. Now, while it is rare, it is possible that someone (male or female) will claim that the touching that was involved in teaching was both unwelcome and offensive. (This can happen even after a instructor/student relationship.) In today's political climate, this will may into a perpetrator and you will be given the difficult task of proving that nothing happened, or the touching was solely associated with the lessons. Good Luck, because today, even a rumor of such a thing can ruin a reputation. That is why, at work, I am never alone with a client. I am not sure if this helps. So I just wanted to give you all a big thank you. Ron Bain's site seems to be one of the most favorite links along with People and Events of Taekwondo's Formative Years. So thanks again and have a great weekend.
