He sent me the first 12 "Tul" of the Chang Hon form set (ITF TaeKwon-Do). I'm recovering from a back problems, but hope to film the TangSooDo Hyungs soon myself. I don't know the newer SooBahkDo Hyungs, and 25 years ago I only learned the first 3 Palgue forms - and my memory is going.... don't remember any of them. I know not many but some HapKiDo schools do forms, which I hope to get some of them on my site for demonstration as well. I want it to be a comprehensive site to at least see what the forms should look like, as long as everyone realizes that there will be some differences from school to school (or organization to organization) and will need a qualified instructor to actually learn them correctly. So if anyone is just in the mood and wants to help me complete my video resource page, feel free to e-mail me and I can get you my mailing address. Let's take a look at some facts and give this some thought. Kokichi Endo and Masututsu Oyama (Choi Yong IL) toured the US as the Togo Brothers in the 1950s as Professional Wrestlers. Mas Oyama is known as one of the greatest martial artists that ever lived but few people seem to know that he was one of the Togo Brothers. The people who teach and run the Kyuktooki fights in Korea are some of the same people who run the professional wrestling there. Some of America's top No-Holds-Barred fighters have earned their living in Japan as Pro-wrestlers. But since it is not televised in the US most Americans don't know that so many of these people are Pro-Wrestlers. One of Dojunim Ji's top students, Johnny Sweat from NJ, is a well known Pro-Wrestler. TangSooDo Master Richard Byrne is a Pro-Wrestling legend in Japan. So what are the chances that this does or does not have an effect on the "No-holds-barred" fights that we see? Just something to think about. So the question becomes how many of those 9th dans can you think of in the Central Fla. area that are counted in the US numbers versus the Korean numbers. Another question might be if anyone knows of Korean 9th dans who they know are residents of the US but have their certifications somehow counted as being Korean. > From: "hackworth" > Date: Tue, 8 May 2001 14:10:55 -0400 > Subject: the_dojang: Numbers > > Ray, according to your numbers there are only 15 USTU or KKW 9th Dans in the > US. Other Foriegn Nationals (mostly Korean) will have their numbers coming from elsewhere.
