Thanks for the clarification, and sorry that the virus alert went out via this forum. I am usually able to catch and kill such msgs. I'm now back home in sunny Calif... For 10 years the TKD school I attend has had one mixed adult and kids class that trained for 4 hours a week at a local YMCA. Lately we are hearing from the adult students that their training is being disrupted by having kids in the same class. Obviously kids do not have the same attention span as do adults. The instructor is considering changing our 1.5 hour class (on two of the three days) to a 45 minute kids class (12 and under) and a 45 minute adult class. Questions for the group: 1. Has anyone else made this sort of change and how was it received? 2. Since we will now have a separate kids class what recommendations do you have for running a kids only class. 3. How much discipline do you require for the kids class. P.S. When answering the questions please consider that the Y only allows the TKD program 4 hours a week thereby limiting the flexibility to have students come in on their own and train. Thanks. ------------------------------ From: MJD99AB@aol.com Date: Tue, 29 May 2001 10:26:11 EDT Subject: the_dojang: Re: The_Dojang-Digest V8 #314 In a message dated 5/29/01 8:13:25 AM US Eastern Standard Time, the_dojang-owner@hpwsrt.cup.hp.com writes: << From: "Maafa" Date: Sun, 27 May 2001 13:28:13 -0500 Subject: the_dojang: hapkido school -- chicago is anyone familiar with Master Lee at the Jungdo & Hapkido school at 3202 W. In general, be skeptical of anything which yells in all caps. Also, the idea that Norton or McAfee can't find something you can find easily with the "Find" command, just because it "hasn't become a virus yet," is ludicrous; a number of the viruses these programs destroy exist as separate files and do not write themselves like the traditional "computer virus" into the code of another "host" program. And typically, when a new virus is found, such as the one mentioned here, the people who find it go straight to Norton and/or to Federal law-enforcement officials with the information. I'd be interested in seeing what that file actually does that it's telling you to find and delete. Also, be leery of anything warning about "sending or receiving any email" without mentioning Microsoft Outlook Express. There is no other email client which can automatically spread viruses, or receive and activate viruses without you personally opening a file attachment, most likely of .exe, .com, .bat, or .pif kind. Only Microsoft Outlook Express has this advanced feature. If you have any other mail client there has never been any threat to you from email viruses. And never believe anything which tells you to email it to everybody on your list. Just for your consideration. ------------------------------ From: "David Welker" Date: Tue, 29 May 2001 10:53:51 -0400 Subject: the_dojang: RE: DORMANT VIRUS ALERT < Date: Tue, 29 May 2001 02:22:04 -0400 Subject: the_dojang: Fwd: DORMANT VIRUS ALERT This virus travels thru E-mail and migrates to the C:\windows\command' folder. This file is *not* a virus; it is a normal file in Windows installations - see the Symantec entry about this hoax virus: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/sulfnbk.exe.warning.html Of course, since it is an executable file, it *could* _become_ infected by a virus, but that would be detected by normal virus checkers. Microsoft has a support message about using the SULFNBK utility; it restores long filenames if you install Windows 98 on top of Windows 95, and then uninstall Windows 98.
