Do you think people log on here and make a list of people they don't want to learn martial arts from? Ever notice that people that start or include the IMHO are almost never humble? Does it seem to you that people who put "my 2 cents" or "my 0.02" really think that they are dealing in a more superior currency? Just some thoughts. Funny how rough those sport boys can get when > it's for keeps. Interesting thing about the people Kano recruited, many had extensive previous training in other martial arts. In fact I believe that in the match that you are speaking of Kano's people were led by Shiro Saigo who just happened to be a senior of Sokaku Takeda in Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu under Tanomo Shiro, Shiro Saigo's adopted father. Shiro Saigo was noted for using "Yama Arashi" or mountain storm throw. Funny, I do not recall having ever heard that technique being included in Kodokan Judo, but it is taught in Daito Ryu. Not everything is as it appears and Kano recruited a number of "Ringers" to his cause. This is not to say Judo is a poor martial art, but not everything is what it appears to be. I did train formally in Judo and it suffers the same problems that are being discussed here. There is no sense for me to continue this thread. I had hoped to make myself clear on the why's and what for's of my reasoning. If the bottom line of this issue has slipped by some readers, I humbly apologize for not making it clearer.
