And Why? I have seen schools and organizations which do it both ways. I will say that I require each testing student to do every form they have learned, as well as all set techniques such as one step sparring and ho sin sool. >> Each belt rank has a set curriculum that they have to learn. And in that curriculum is repeat stuff from the other belt ranks so they can keep up practicing what they have already learned. And they get to learn a few new things to keep learning interesting for them. Now that doesn't mean that we just teach them nothing more than what is in that set curriculum for their belt rank ... no, we teach them more ... but they are only tested on what is required for their belt rank. I was reviewing my email messages when I was asked "what is the largest building in New York" by a fellow service member. Knowing I was from NYC, I answered, "World Trade Center, and then Empire State Building." I was then told to come and watch the television monitor since the World Trade Center was just hit by a plane. I thought it was a freak accident. I then began watching. Within several minutes you could see another commercial plane hit the other tower. You then knew it was no random act. I worked right next to that building and NYC downtown area in the 1970's. I sipped on the coffee staring in disbelief. Just then, we heard a shudder and booming noise in the Pentagon. We did not connect the events. I lead my department out of the corridor 8 section to the North Parking lot. As I was leaving the clinic, several victims arrived. Bloody bodies, people in shock. We helped them get treated, then moved out. The plane hit the Navy side of the Wedge. The triage team was helping with several victims. People crying. Chaos. An unbelieveable day. A day to place in perspective what is important. Off to see if I can help anyone... ...a moment of silence for those innocent victims and families.
